Lens materials suitable for different age groups
1. Suitable lens materials for children and adolescents
Parents are advised to choose PC lenses for children’s glasses. Compared with other lenses, lenses made of this material are not only lightweight, but also have better impact resistance, are less prone to breakage, and have higher safety. Not only that, PC lenses can also protect the eyes from the harm of UV rays.
Children’s glasses are not suitable for wearing glass lenses because children are active and glass lenses are fragile. If they are damaged, it may harm the eyes.
2. Suitable lens materials for adults
Resin lenses are suitable for middle-aged and young people. Resin lenses have a wide range of choices, including refractive index differentiation, functional differentiation, and refractive focus differentiation, which can meet the different needs of different populations.
3. Lens materials suitable for the elderly
If elderly people experience presbyopia, it is recommended to choose glass or resin lenses.
Generally, presbyopia lenses are low degree farsightedness lenses, with low requirements for lens weight and low motion coefficient for the elderly. Glass or ultra hard resin lenses are more scratch resistant, and optical performance can be guaranteed for a long time.
